Headliner: ALYSIA WOOD
Alysia Wood is one of the bright new faces to come out of the strong Seattle comedy scene. She was nominated by Campus Activities Magazine for their Reader’s Choice Awards in the comedy category for “Best Performer – Female Artist”. Long before the nomination, National Lampoon Comedy Radio called her, “Hysterical!” She jokes about so many “issues” that a therapist once handed her a business card during one of her shows. Wood is also a contributing writer for internet columns and frequent guest on many podcasts. She was a panelist on Niecy Nash’s Yahoo series, “Let’s Talk About Love” and is in the “I Am Road Comic” documentary. Currently, she appears frequently on Seattle area television shows like “The 206″ and “New Day NW”.
Opener: OWEN STRAW
Owen Straw’s comedic style of absurdist literalism has been capturing the hearts of audiences for years. Bringing a unique energy and deceptive intelligence to his bizarre jokes, Straw’s act weaves from quick one liners to real life stories about failure and heartbreak and sometimes a sing-a-long. From improvising brilliant and unpredictable rants for crowds of jaded comedy nerds to pounding out joke after joke for rowdy drunks in the roughest road rooms, Owen Straw gets big laughs in any environment.
