Headliner: Susan Rice
Funny and familiar, Susan Rice will remind you of your auntie who let you stay up late to watch something a little too violent and more than PG-rated. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Susan lived and worked in Los Angeles for over 13 years before returning to live in Portland. She has enjoyed appearances on Comedy Central, Showtime and on A&E’s Evening at the Improv. She was even a featured performer on HBO’s Comedy Festival at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. She has performed with some of the greats including Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, Maria Bamford and Rich Shydner. Considered a “legend” by the younger generation of comics, Susan prefers the title “Goddess of All That is Funny!” She shows her audiences that age only helps where humor is concerned. She’s got chops! (and she can provide a side dish as well!)
Opener: Cory Michaelis
Cory Michaelis is one of the latest unique acts to get his start in the Seattle comedy scene. A teacher by day and comic by night, Michaelis is so committed to his act that he tests it out at five open mics a day… aka 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th periods. He was a finalist in the 2010 Giggles’ Laff Off and was featured on Seattle’s Evening Magazine. He has taken his act to the road to Harvey’s in Portland, The Gaslamp Show in San Diego, and many Tribble Run shows. He’s flattered to have been compared to Drake Withamy, the 2003 Seattle International Comedy Competition winner and the first headliner that Michaelis opened for in October 2009.
